Below shows the team's investment in the draft and free agency for every position group.

Every position is shown with the overall league investment in the draft (x-axis) and free agency (y-axis) and where the selected team compares vs. the lague average. If the arrow moves right (or left), the team invests more (or less) in the draft than the league; if the arrow moves up (or down), the team invests more (or less) in free agency.

• Free Agency Spend (y-axis): Average annual AAV ($M) for each team
• Draft Capital (x-axis): Amount of draft capital the team used per year using the Ben Baldwin draft capital model (for example pick 1=100 points of draft capital, pick 32=81 points, pick 64=55, pick 100=33, pick 150=18, and pick 200=7)
• Defensive position groups are in orange and offensive positions are in blue.

Draft Performance:

The blue bars show player draft value (both full value and a playing-time adjusted value which measures players based only on the amount of time they played). To understand effectiveness drafting, compare the bar to the orange line which is expected draft value based on the draft capital they had. The grey dashed line shows the average team's draft value.

NOTE: Values for the most recent season are highly affected by the amount rookies play - the most recent draft may appear to be "bad" if rookies did not play.

Free Agency:

Below shows free agency signings and losses by year and free agent tier. Tier 1 free agents are above 5% of the current salary cap, Tier 2 are between 2.5% and 5% of the cap, and Tier 3 are below 2.5%
